Discover Creativity for Wellbeing
Join our Community Mosaic Project and boost your well-being through art and heritage.
We are inviting members of the local community to take part in an exciting mosaic project that forms a key part of our major flagship initiative: The Music of Life.
Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, this new activity celebrates The Horton’s rich history of pioneering music therapy and the group will be working on the creation of a unique permanent outdoor mosaic artwork for The Horton Gardens. These sessions focus on creativity for well-being in a relaxed, supportive, and completely inclusive environment.
The design – by local mosaic artist Tina De Domingo – draws inspiration from the patterns and colours in of our decorative organ pipes and original Victorian encaustic tiled cafe floor. The sessions will be facilitated by Tina, who has extensive experience delivering inclusive community arts projects, including dedicated work with mental health and disability groups.
Who is this for?
To create a safe and meaningful space, we are specifically inviting individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges. Whether you are looking for a calm space to connect with others, a creative outlet, or a mindful activity to support your mental health, you are very welcome here. Not experience in mosaic is needed.
