Introduction to Mosaic (Beginners) – October

Wednesday 25th October, 10:30am – 1:30pm (with short break)

Mosaic is an ancient and wonderful process of making pictures and patterns from small pieces of stone, glass, ceramic and more.
This introductory workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some mosaic experience. It will introduce you to some basic practical skills so that you can create your very own unique mosaic to take home. Choosing from a wide selection of glass tiles, interesting pieces and shaped bases, you will learn to cut glass tiles, and to lay them to make a design.
All materials and tools will be provided.
However, you may wish to bring pieces such as broken jewellery, pieces of ceramics, etc. to include. Please check with the tutor before using anything like this, to make sure that it is suitable and will not be damaged in the process.

At the end of the workshop, you will be given grout and instructions to take away with your mosaic. Once your mosaic is fully dry, you will be able to follow the instructions to grout it.
