Comedy at The Horton – October

Friday 20th October, 8pm

A bumper night of stand-up comedy, we bring you the best that the UK stand-up comedy circuit has to offer.

This months fun is provided by Keith Farnan, Sikisa, Mark Cram and your headliner Mike Cox.

Sikisa
From South London, Barbadian citizen Sikisa has become one of the most exciting acts in the UK, having delighted crowds with her authentic, fearless and vivacious personality and immediate warmth and likability.

She won the public’s vote in the BBC New Comedy Award competition, for which she was a finalist. She has quickly made a name for herself on the comedy circuit with her unique style and has become a regular performer and MC at some of the UK’s favourite comedy nights. She is also a two-time Leicester Festival Aware nominee for Best
Newcomer and Best appearance with her work in progress shows.

Sikisa’s TV appearances include Sorry I Didn’t Know and Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club, The Stand-Up Sketch Show, and a judge on the BBC New Comedy Awards. Her radio and podcast credits include Off Menu, Lemonade and Wheel Of Misfortune and Perfect Sounds. She was also a regular writer on News jack on  BBC Radio 4.

Keith Farnan

“… If Eddie Izzard had been Irish, he’d surely have turned out a lot like Keith Farnan.” The Scotsman

“Brilliant, thought-provoking and laugh out loud funny.” Time Out

A former solicitor, Keith has the natural ability to delve into themes other comics may shy away from and it is this aptitude that is placing him in the lead of investigative comedians. He has been a regular guest on radio, both in Ireland and the UK, from BBC, RTE, Talk Sport, Today FM, Newstalk and all sorts of other warm and welcoming studios.

Keith Farnan has performed as a stand-up all over the world, from Montreal, to Amsterdam, to Hong Kong.

His television credits include BBC3’s Most Annoying People, One Night Stand (BBC), Liffey Laughs (RTE) and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1).

Mike Cox

“Like an Everyman, if that Everyman had delicious cynicism and razor sharp wit.” Romesh Ranganathan

“Mike has the sharpness of any highbrow comic, but with the wealth of material to appeal to the Everyman with ease. A refreshing and hilarious act to watch and work with.” Dane Baptiste

Mike has quickly made his mark on the comedy scene with his sharp witted observational style which saw him crowned South Coast Comedian of the Year in 2014 as well as making the final of the prestigious Amused Moose Laugh Off in 2016.

He can be seen at comedy clubs up and down the UK.

Mark Cram

“A Masterclass in comedy design” Newbury Weekly News

Mark is quite the all-rounder; with both a killer set and strong MCing chops. For the last few years Mark has been plying his comedy trade across the UK. Constantly evolving, usually unpredictable; he is garnering positive reactions everywhere he goes.

Mark thrills crowds with his tales of dead-end jobs, his family and being the less than grateful winner of Bedford Comedian of the Year.
