Comedy at The Horton – October 25
Friday 3rd October, 8pm
Our comedy night is back, bringing you the best that the UK stand-up comedy circuit has to offer.
This month’s fun and merriment provided by Max Fulham, Wendy Wason, Joe Sitherland, and all held together by compere Carly Smallman.
Joe Sutherland
Joe Sutherland is a comedian and Greggs brand ambassador. Stand-up, acting, writing, influencing, there is nothing he won’t think about doing and maybe even get around to.
He performs all over the UK and internationally, sometimes on the internet and sometimes on the television (nature’s internet).
Recent appearances include Dave’s Hypothetical and the BBC’s EastEnders. Yes, really.
“Takes to the stage like an old pro, oozing star power from every pore. He combines borderline offensive self-confidence and biting punchlines with an openness that leaves the audience totally tamed.” The Mirror
“Drooling cynicism, punchy jokes and shrewd sarcasm. I think I’ve found my new favourite comedian.” Voice Mag
Carly Smallman
Carly loves comedy – it’s her whole life! From writing funny songs, to telling jokes, this girl can’t get enough of making people laugh! Carly has performed stand up on the BBC, been a panel show regular for ITV, and co-hosted on the radio…but her passion lies in live comedy.
She has played at some fabulous venues; from every major comedy club, to arts centres, to the Hammersmith Apollo, to her living room!
“A bundle of energy” The Sun
“funny, fresh and endlessly creative” Time Out
Wendy Wason
A Scottish actress and comedian, Wendy launched her comedy career in 2004, getting to the final of Funny Women and semi-finals of So You Think You’re Funny at the Edinburgh Fringe the following year. She was already an established actress with roles in Coupling and the IT Crowd working with everyone from Chris O’Dowd and Nicholas Lyndhurst to Johnny Depp and John Malkovich. February 2014 saw Wendy nominated for best actress in Hollywood for British Hustle, the Toscars spoof.
Wendy has performed across the globe including countries such as the USA & Australia. She has provided tour support for Katherine Ryan, Shappi Khorsandi & Tatti Mcleod.
Max Fulham
Comedian and ventriloquist Max Fulham has been working professionally since his early teens and brings a fresh and contemporary twist to a classic art.
Max has wowed audiences, entertaining thousands of people in theatres across the UK and internationally.
With TV appearances including ITV’s Saturday night show ‘Game of Talents’, ‘Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable’ on Dave and the revival of the classic ‘Crackerjack!’, Max’s comedic talents are in high demand. He is also a regular on the stand-up comedy circuit.
Described as “skilled and quick-witted” by The Stage and with viral success on TikTok amassing 2 million likes, Max is a performer not to be missed.
“Max is brilliant! He’s Old School meets NuSkool in the best and funniest way!” Mel Geidroyc
