Bryony and Edd, founders of Circus Theatre Company Hikapee are back at The Horton back for a special weekend of workshops, sharing their Aerial Circus skills.
Local company Hikapee have performed two shows at The Horton, The Elf Factory in 2021. And Moonfall in 2022.
The Workshop
This two hour workshop is suitable for 7-15 year olds who are new to aerial but enjoy being physical and trying new things. The workshop will include learning aerial trapeze & silks as well as theatre games and other floor based circus skills.
Hikapee are currently creating a new show all about the beach. As a part of this workshop they will play with ideas, themes and characters who might make an appearance in the new show.
Please make sure you are dressed in clothes that you can move in. We would advise wearing something that covers the backs of your knees, and a top which covers your armpits.
The Tutors
Bryony and Edd have both taught theatre and aerial circus extensively for over 10 years, including in top London Circus Schools and have performed across the World. They set up their own Theatre Company, Hikapee, in 2014. Hikapee tour to
theatre spaces, outdoor festivals, village halls, schools and were part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022, parading in front of Buckingham Palace.
