Heritage Mosaic Coaster Workshop
Saturday 23rd Jan 2027, 10am – 1pm
You will create a coaster inspired by Patterns in Time, our new permanent outdoor artwork. Your design will draw from the shapes, patterns, and colours of The Horton’s original Victorian encaustic tiled café floor, the historic space that originally housed the former chapel’s organ and choir stalls.
Mosaic is an ancient and wonderful art form of making pictures and patterns from small pieces of stone, glass, or ceramic. This workshop will introduce you to basic, practical mosaic skills so you can create your very own unique piece to take home. Both beginners and improvers are very welcome.
This workshop will be facilitated by local artist Tina de Domingo, who designed and facilitated the sessions for the Patterns in Time mosaic.
All materials and tools are provided.
This event is part of The Horton’s Music of Life Project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
