Half Term – Full Day Children’s Art Workshop
Tuesday 17th February, 9:30am – 3:30pm
Led by local artist and art teacher, Mel Bridgman, this full-day children’s mixed media art workshop takes spring as its inspiration to explore nature with a focus on four themes:
- Observation & Growth – drawing plants exactly as they are, focusing on detail
- Textures in Nature – leaves, bark, petals, stems
- Plant Forms & Structure – roots, veins, symmetry, patterns
- Nature Close-Up – zoomed-in views of plants
All materials are provided and children will be able to take the artwork they create home with them at the end of the day.
Timetable
- From 9.00am Children can be dropped off; colouring and games will be available in the atrium supervised by staff until
the workshop starts at 9:30am - 9.30am – 11.00am: Observation & Growth
- 11.00am – 11.15am: Break
- 11.15am – 12.30pm: Textures in Nature
- 12.30pm – 1.00pm:Lunch
- 1.00pm – 2.15pm: Plant Forms & Structure
- 2.15pm – 2.30pm: Break
- 2.30pm – 3.30pm: Plant Forms & Structure continues
- 3.30pm: Children to be collected
The ticket price includes a biscuit and squash drink snack pack.
Lunch
Packed lunches can also be pre-ordered for £5. The packed lunch includes a sandwich (Cheese, Ham or Marmite) yogurt, Kinder chocolate or raisins, and squash.
Pom bears can be added to any option for an additional £1.75.
Alternatively, children may bring their own packed lunches.
A biscuit and squash will be provided in a snack break.
Tickets: £53.50
Running Time: 6 hours – 9:30am – 3:30pm. Children can be dropped off at 9am, colouring and games will be available in the atrium supervised by staff until the workshop starts at 9:30am.
Age Rating: Ages 7-11
Please note: Children will be the responsibility of their parent/carer until they are signed into the workshop and after they have signed out. The parent/carer will need to complete consent form ahead of the session starting.
A £2 booking fee is included in ticket prices. This applies when booking online and in person. The booking fee covers costs charged to the charity for the booking system and payment processing.
