Family Concert – Ferdinand and the Little Bull

Family Concert – Ferdinand and the Little Bull

Friday, 3rd April, 11:30am

Bilingual (English / Spanish) concert, suitable for the whole family.

Ferdinand and the Bull tells the story of a gentle bull who would rather smell flowers and sit under his beloved cork tree than fight in bull fights. It is adapted from the classic 1936 children’s book, The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf, illustrated by Robert Lawson, which in turn was adapted into an Academy Award-winning Disney film in 1938 and more recently the 2017 animated film, Ferdinand.

The music of the English composer, Alan Ridout, written for solo violin, tenderly illustrates the different episodes of this simple story that contains messages of peace, individuality, friendship, respect for difference, challenging traditional expectations of strength.
