IKEBANA – SUMMER WORKSHOP

Friday 7th August 10.30 – 12.30

Discover the ancient Japanese art of Ikebana, giving artistic life to real flowers. Create a simple arrangement with fresh Summer flowers and foliage that you will be able to take home. The subject of the class is forming a shape with branches to enhance the flower.
All plant materials and a vase are included in the price of the session. Please bring your own set of secateurs.

Meet the Tutor:

Irene Moore: Following a Fine Art degree, Irene had a successful career in design, working in international fashion, jewellery and interiors before developing a passion for Ikebana. She is a ‘First Grade, Somu’ level teacher and Board member of London Sogetsu Branch and Ikebana International.

“I’m originally from Singapore but as a family we moved around a lot and it was in Oman that I was first introduced to Ikebana – I’ve never looked back and have become a devoted teacher and demonstrator. Ikebana gives me a lot of peace, I guess you could call it meditative, before such a thing was so popular. It really cultivates an awareness and appreciation of nature which has given me much enjoyment of what is around us. Now that I’ve been teaching for some years, I love the process and get great satisfaction from the results of my students. With Ikebana one does not stop learning and I still attend workshops with great masters.”
