Exhibition: Bodily Matters

Bodily Matters

by Veronica Revuelta Garrido

Wednesday 8th – Thursday 30th April 2026

The body matters. As substance, as symbol, as site of ritual and unlearning.

This exhibition explores the body not as an object to be seen, but as a lived condition marked by time, shaped by effort, held together through care, labour, and hidden meaning. The works move between textile, paint, and organic matter, weaving together material and symbolism. Together, they ask: What does it mean to inhabit a body? And how do we learn to see it differently through symbols, cycles, and slow acts of making? A table of raw materials and work in progress invites touch, offering a glimpse into the practice behind the pieces.

Bodily Matters is not about the body as an image. It is about the body as it is: tender, imperfect, mystical, and worth attending to.

Veronica’s practice engages with making and materiality through feminist body politics and the poetics of labour. She works with textiles, raw canvases, and organic matter — sewing, painting, dyeing, and repairing to explore the politics of touch, visibility, and care. These slow, imperfect processes honour the body, its histories, and the invisible labour embedded in making. As a curator, Veronica uses art as a platform for dialogue, resistance, and change. Her projects challenge traditional institutional formats, creating spaces for participation, critical reflection, and collective action.
