About The Tutor
Maria Walker is a Surrey-based textile artist and has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions around Britain. She uses her experience of being human to inspire her textile art and installations.

She gathers together diverse objects and materials which she combines with cloth and stitch to tell stories through her artwork often creating unusual juxtapositions.

Memory and narrative are important threads which run through her art practice. She is particularly interested in everyday life and is a collector of many things: from old photographs and snippets of overheard conversations to vintage household paraphernalia and discarded shopping lists.

Maria has a Masters Degree in Fine Arts.
