“A celebration of Amy Johnson but also an inspiration to anybody who has ever had a dream.” Dawn Bonfield, Royal Academy of Engineering
“Beautifully written, wonderfully human, touching portrayal.”
“Watching this performance is an intimate and satisfying experience that brings the motivations and emotions of historical trailblazer Amy to life.” Maria Reeves, Director of The Horton
On the morning of 5th May 1930, Amy Johnson set off from Croydon airport (then London’s only airport), in a small green Gipsy Moth aeroplane, on her record breaking and thrilling solo flight to Australia. This flight captured the imagination of the world and made her an international superstar.
She lived her life for discovery and the future of aviation. Today, almost a century on from Amy’s astounding achievement, her story is as relevant and exciting as ever.
In Last Flight Out, we meet Amy in a world of mixed memories, desires, wishes and ambitions, finding out how the world of this ‘lone-girl flyer’ fitted together.
